Gareth started his career as a consultant at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and then went on to spend the next 15 years in European energy markets as a trader, analyst and originator in both physical and financial Power, Gas, Coal and Carbon markets. He has worked as an analyst and trader for Italian oil oil major ENI and then went on to work as Director of Gas and Power trading at BNP Paribas Fortis. He left Constellation Energy in 2008, where he was Director of European Energy, to establish New Stream Renewables. Since 2009 Gareth has been responsible for New Stream’s strategy, structured route to market power sales and merchant trading of peaking assets. In 2014 he established New Stream Generation to provide commercial and operational asset management to “peaking” and distributed generators going on to setup New Streams 24/7 operational control room at their Hampshire base in 2016.
Charlie has been involved in energy markets since 1997. From 2004 he worked as fund manager for a London based multi-family office with an emphasis on physical and financial energy commodity markets. Charlie joined as a director and shareholder at New Stream Renewables at the end of 2011. He has now been responsible for over 1.5GW of renewable PPAs, developing the “best value” process for route to market power to ensure maximum value is achieved for green generators across all technologies and tenors. More recently Charlie has been involved on assessing subsidy free renewable projects and looking at ways to enhance income through shared connections and battery storage.
Paul has spent over 20 years in financial, commodity and energy markets. He has been involved in advisory, trading and analytical operations. He is a director and shareholder at New Stream Generation where is main role is to identify opportunities for our clients through changes in underlying markets and regulatory / policy environment. Specifically, Paul had been working on “Peak Generation” strategy, Capacity Market and Balancing Services markets. He has also been working extensively to explore opportunities in the battery storage and “hybrid” space. This has included detailed work in National Grid Frequency Management requirement (FFR, DFR and EFR) and Balancing Mechanism (BM) participation.
Joe began his career at BP in UK Energy data and analytics. He then went on to spend the next 10 years at Veolia Environmental Services where he was responsible for environmental compliance certificate trading and analysis. Joe joined the team in 2012 and now leads on all analytical, process and systems work. He is responsible for our New Stream Peak Power Controls Matrix, remote controls and monitoring of distributed generation assets. Joe manages New Stream’s back-office team and is also responsible for compliance and procedures. His recent projects have included system setup and processes for 100MW of gas peaking assets and reporting management and controls for a large portfolio of commercial roof-top solar. Joe is a director and shareholder at New Stream Generation.
Stuart is our technical director, specialising in command and control of generational assets. He is responsible for all New Stream operational control software, monitoring, reporting and cyber security both onsite and at our 24/7 control room. Stuart started his career as a Electrical Engineer in the British Army setting up a dedicated power systems division. He then went on to spend the next 8 years in the power generation industry as a commissioning and controls engineer successfully commissioning in excess of 800MW of power plants both national and internationally. He has worked for a large distributed energy provider across gas, diesel and battery technologies. His experience as an ITE (independent technical expert) with assets participating in the capacity market and National Grid balancing services has been particularly valuable to clients over the last 2 years.
Si has European energy sector experience, spanning 20 years of commercial, analytical and consulting roles within Utilities, Oil & Gas and other blue-chip sectors. In previous roles, Si has held responsibility for the commercial operation of assets, EU wholesale energy market trading, Balancing Mechanism (BM) participation, market change readiness and the implementation and performance of energy market regulations. His current focus is forecasting and optimising asset commercial value across many “stacked” revenue streams, within the GB’s rapidly transforming electricity system. He holds Masters degrees in mathematics and nuclear regulation.
